Lord 13 - 2013 (2011)

From Athens, Greece, this is a band that brings us back to the glorious days of pure dirty, manly stoner/ hard rock with a heavy, classic 70's vibe.
Most tracks are up-tempo and full of energy like "Fire", "Get You High" and "Keep On Riding". Of course some more slow-driven, space-injected moments are present too. "Grind It" and especially "Not Over" (the longest track in album, reaching 8 minutes) are two of them and clearly show the impact that bands like Monster Magnet or speaking more locally Nightstalker had in the whole scene. There is also an acoustic track titled "Walking In Sin" which closes the album smooth and gently.
Also in "Wicked Thing" we have a guest.. the great Ben Ward of Orange Goblin !

Up in smoke !!

Working hard in the basement for the past six months they are finally ready to release their debut EP, recorded at the band's home in Washington state.

Helhorse - For Wolves And Vultures (2011)

Some of you may remember that Dødning, one of only a handful of domestic bands idolizing the stateside hardcore/blues hybrid (otherwise known as Southern hardcore). But with eyes set on horizons beyond Denmark, a band name that is impossible for most foreigners to pronounce let alone comprehend was undesirable. And so the fivesome became Helhorse, armed itself to the teeth with attitude and Southern swagger, and prepared to take on the international market with the smoky grooves of "For Wolves and Vultures". D-beats and chug worship are nowhere to be heard; instead a song like "Black Weed", with its lazy tempo and gruff vocals, brings the band into close proximity with the Monster Magnet of recent times, while "Lowered Expectations" and "237" are basically akin to hypothetical B-sides taken from The Damned Things' "Ironiclast", predisposed with a preference for the extreme

This band is not only the latest prodigy of the Danish metal scene; they also have the attitude, prowess and song writing talent to keep rocking for years, that's for sure. Check this one out an keep watching out for these fellows!

Make a favor to yourself and listen to this album. Thank me later. Peace.

Confused Little Girl - Southern Gentlement (2011)

Confused Little Girl are a four-piece, deep-fried, southern swamp-rock band from Orlando, Florida. Their songs are filled with themes of drinking whiskey, murdering people and burying them in the bellies of alligators, pigs and the bottom of the water in the Everglades, and of course, selling your soul to Satan. The music that accompanies this subject matter is filled with loud guitars, heavy, groove-based big drums and enough fat-bottom. Since 2005, these beloved bastards of rock have been working tirelessly to shove their brand of heavy rock and roll down the throats of as many people as humanly possible.

Trust me a must listen album play along a bourbon bottle and anything else you love.

Black Mastiff - Pyramids (2012)

Black Mastiff lays their psych rock down real smooth and casual. Heavy, mind you, but humming with all the familiarity of a strong embrace from an old friend.  Pyramids, the Edmonton trio’s debut full-length, exudes a certain mature presence that commands your attention and respect without having to resort to a loud bark or nasty bite. In fact, this dog prefers to be on its back out in the sun, lord of the leisure kingdom growing fat off the groove, chewing on the freedom riffs like they’re thick, tasty bones. Of course, if the out of doors disagrees with you, Pyramids is equally effective where the lights are low, the souls are shoulder to shoulder, and the smoke rolls about you in marmalade tones.
